Ross has expanded his compositional style and created his most song-like music. At the surface level this album sounds like mellow vaporwave with a bit of EDM thrown in, but Ross approaches it more like a classical composer. He gives you a strong thematic melody that you can sing along, and then he spends the rest of the track deconstructing it and subtracting it, leaving the listener guessing in a slight state of uneasy anticipation. Well done. dharmalogos
Straddling the threshold between studio performance and digital technique; the NYC artist applies "fake jazz" principles to synthpop. Bandcamp New & Notable May 2, 2024

I discovered Ross via his newest album 8 Songs About Absolutely Nothing. That album was beep-boop melodies that reminded me of Mark Mothersbaugh's soundtrack work. This album is much different. It's all beats and no melody. But the beats are fat and rhythmically complex. There's something sexy about this. Seriously, I think it would be good music to have sex to. Pay Ross his $5, and have fun trying it out. I intend to. dharmalogos
